Our Team.
Main Street Baseball Club is led by leaders in both industry and sport-specific professionals. This combination of those with the experience of leading and managing in their profession with high-level baseball experience and IQ provides our players and families with top-notch baseball & softball instruction and streamlined communication and organization.

Kevin Murphy, co-founder
Kevin began coaching in 2012 and in 2019 founded Main Street Baseball Club as he saw a need for players to learn the game and grow as young adults in a competitive, yet supportive environment.
He believes strongly in the philosophy of attracting "good families with good kids and we'll teach them baseball." He brings to the club an extensive knowledge and love of the game and a passion for getting the best out of his players.
Kevin is a sports architect and principal at EwingCole, where in addition to being involved in the design of major sports facilities across the country, day-to-day, he works with the Philadelphia Phillies and Major League Baseball to provide players with state-of-the-art training environments.

Derek Wakeley, Director of Baseball
A former collegiate standout and coaching talent, Derek brings extensive playing and coaching experience, along with a strong track record in player development and recruitment.
Derek is a 2016 graduate of West Deptford High School, where he helped lead the team to a New Jersey state championship. He began his collegiate career at Stony Brook University before transferring to Gloucester County College (now Rowan College of South Jersey – Gloucester), competing from 2017 to 2018. He continued his career at the University of Delaware from 2019 to 2021, where he earned national recognition by being named to the 2020 NCBWA Stopper of the Year Watch List, honoring the top relief pitchers in NCAA Division I baseball.
